ASLE-001: NAIROBI CITY EXCURSION

nairobi-city2These are short day tours that offer you the opportunity to see the city within a short time and discover Nairobi?s beauty and history. The tour covers the modern city centre, the colorful city market, Parliament buildings, Kenyatta International Conference Centre, the landmark of Nairobi (KICC), the Railway Museum and the renowned National Museum where there are spell-binding displays of the early man, tribal regalia and flora and fauna of Kenya. A visit to the adjacent snake park is also included.

ASLE- 002: KAREN BLIXEN & GIRAFFE MANOR – 4 HOURS

GIRAFEE MANORWe depart in the morning or in the afternoon and drive towards the Ngong Hills to the Karen Blixen Museum, home of the pioneer coffee farmer, Karen Blixen – of “Out of Africa” fame, now preserved as a museum. A visit to this museum provides an opportunity to step back in time and gain an insight into this remarkable woman’s life. Views of the Ngong Hills can be admired from the beautifully landscaped gardens of the museum. Later proceed to Giraffe Manor to see and hand feed the famous endangered species of Rothschild Giraffe.

ASLE-003: NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK – 4 HOURS

NBO NATIONAL PARKNairobi National Park is a unique and unspoilt wildlife haven within sight of the city’s skyline. Rhino, buffalo, cheetah, zebra, giraffe, lion and plenty of antelopes and gazelles can be seen roaming in this open plains country with a section of highland forest as well as stretches of broken bush country, deep, rocky valleys and gorges with scrub and long grass. There are over 300 bird species including the Secretary bird, crowned cranes, vultures, and peckers. Morning and afternoon tours can be arranged.

ASLE-004: THE CARNIVORE EXPERIENCE

carnivoreWith a wide variety of cuisine offered by restaurants in Nairobi, we recommend a dinner or lunch at the Carnivore, which is famous for it’s succulent steaks and barbecue, dishes including game meat and is therefore dubbed “the meat eaters” paradise. The restaurant also offers a vegetarian menu; the meal is an excellent complement to a holiday especially as a welcome or a farewell dinner. Guaranteed daily departures at 1200hrs and 1300hrs.

ASLE-005: BOMAS OF KENYA- 3 HOURS

The word Bomas is a Swahili word meaning (Homestead). Bomas of Kenya is a few kilometers from the city centre and has numerous “bomas” (homesteads) reflecting Kenya’s cocktail of cultures have been re-created for visitors to experience the traditional village life of the People of Kenya. The highlight of this tour is the colorful display of folk dances from various tribes performed in a splendid arena and acrobats.

ASLE-006: FULL DAY NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK & BOMAS OF KENYA

The morning is spent tracking some of the many species found in the Park, which include rhino, lion, buffalo, leopard and cheetah. After lunch at Carnivore Restaurant continue to Bomas of Kenya for a fiesta of traditional music and dance. Return to the city center in the evening.

ASLE-008: LAKE NAKURU DAY TRIP

lk. nakuruLake Nakuru lies in the volcano-strewn Rift Valley, one of a chain of 8 lakes, which stretch the length of Kenya from Tanzania to Ethiopia. The 160 km drive from Nairobi passes through highland farms of the Kikuyu people before descending an escarpment into the dramatic landscape of the Rift. Lunch is taken in the Park and is followed by an extensive tour, which focuses on the bewildering spectacle of a million flamingos but which also, seeks out the large variety of wildlife with which the Park abounds.

ASLE-009: 1 NIGHT EXCURSION TO LAKE NAIVASHA

DAY 1

hippos_lake_naivasha0800HRS – Depart Nairobi and drive leisurely on Naivasha Road to the Kikuyu Escarpment, the edge of the breathtaking world-famous Great East Africa Rift Valley. Descend to the floor and proceed to Naivasha, currently a hive of economic activities comprising of multimillion-flower farming, vineyards, and other agricultural activities, and onto Hell’s Gate National Park remarkable for its craggy cliffs and the fearlessly tame hyrax close to an impressive rock pillar.

Hell’s Gate is one of the country’s national parks, which can be explored on foot. A game walk past gracefully grazing gazelles and the larger antelopes can be delightful for nature walkers or keep-fit enthusiasts. You may opt to do a game ride on a bicycle!.

1200HRS- You will take a leisurely-paced drive to Naivasha town. Stop by one of the local eating-out joints to sample what Naivasha town can offer, possibly the fisherman’s catch-for-the-day, or simply proceed to the nearby Delamere dairies for Yoghurt and / or milk shake.

1330HRS ? Drive to your Lodge/Camp located on the shores of the fresh-waters Lake Naivasha. Upon check-in relax or you may wish to just take a walk around the compound, take a stroll to the lake, or take a boat-ride to the crescent island (this can be arranged with the Hotel direct at very reasonable rates).

7.30PM – You are now ready for a proper sit-in meal – the Club takes the challenge! After dinner, you may wish to sit by the campfire in the lounge, a big delight for club patrons.

Retire at your own pleasure.

DAY 2

After breakfast, drive back to Nairobi. Drop off at pre arranged place
